FAQs

Q. Do I have to be a business major to join AKPsi?

A. All majors are welcomed and encouraged to join our chapter. We believe that all majors can benefit heavily from professional development. Every industry entails business protocol to some extent. Your experience in AKPsi will provide you with the know how to tackle any problem you encounter on the job with an innovative solution.

Q.How much does it cost?

A. Like most Greek organizations, AKPsi requires dues from its members to pay for our operating costs for major events.  Our membership dues and pledge semester dues are both $160 per semester.

Q. What Makes Alpha Kappa Psi Different from other Business Fraternities?

A. Alpha Kappa Psi is different from other business fraternities in that it focuses on a balance between professionalism and brotherhood, in addition to being open to students of all majors across campus. For example, we hold professional development workshops to refine and improve the skills of our Active Brothers within a professional setting, but we also host social events that are aimed to strengthen the bond between members. We also have a well-connected alumni network that is very engaged and involved. Alpha Kappa Psi offers the tools and resources for one to succeed in any field of one’s own interest and also offers the personal connections and relationships between members that will last even past college.

Q. What is the Expected Time Commitment of Akpsi?

A. Pledging for Alpha Kappa Psi can be compared to taking an additional 1-credit course. There will be events and commitments on specific days throughout the semester. Chapter meetings are Thursday evenings at 6:30pm. More specific dates, times, and locations will be provided.

Q. Can I still Rush if I am rushing/in a Fraternity/Sorority?

A. Yes! We have several brothers that split their time between social organizations and the Eta Chapter.

Q. I have a question that you didn't already answer, who can I ask?

A. Not a problem!  Feel free to use the Contact Us page to send us an email with your question! Or, DM us on Instagram (@akpsi.eta). Our Executive Board will get in touch with you shortly regarding your question (please be sure to put an email that you regularly check in the reply)!
